LET’S FACE IT I COULD GO TO BRUSSELS FOR ONE NIGHT STANDS! FOR JUST £50 EUROSTAR PLUS £40 HOTEL, £100 FOR DRINK AND F—, F— ANYBODY, THEN BACK HOME NEXT AFTERNOON, THAT IS JUST £190. OR IF I HAVE LATE EUROSTAR HOME NEXT DAY, EVEN SQUEEZE IN A SECOND F— WTH SOMEONE FOR ANOTHER 50. TOTAL £240 FOR TRAVEL, HOTEL 1 NIGHT AND TWO AMAZING F—S. SNAP CAN TRANSFORM MY TRAVELLING, FINANCES AND SEX LIFE. Nothing is possible till February payday of course.
The Max on Tuesday night is £38.50 (plus another £25 Snap ticket Wednesday of course). The coach Saturday morning 930am arriving 530pm is just £25. But seven hour journey! A seven hour journey just to rush to Fifth Avenue and not fancy any of the girls, then go to Empire? Might as well get the late Eurostar and just go to Empire and do 5th on my next two chances Sunday and Monday. Take it as it comes. I would rather stay the Tuesday night. I wonder how late I can decide to take the Snap ticket Wednesday? When does this window close? BEFORE the 1st surely. Well, do you know what, I don’t even need to make that decision now. Leave it till Monday in Brussels and see how the land lies; I might be really happy to come home. The great thing is I DO have the option of extending my stay as I am not back at work till the Saturday. So I can stay the Tuesday night if I want, and the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday! Though where would I get the money??! Just go Saturday night late, enjoy two leisurely days Sunday and Monday and then see how I feel Monday night. I wonder if I COULD just book the Snap ticket for Wednesday afternoon right now whether I use it or not? All depends if the Snap window stays open after 1st November or not. Surely not, otherwise everyone would buy Snap on the day wouldn’t they. They would NEVER sell a ticket at full price. Good to see the Max prices HAVE tumbled close to the day. I cannot afford to stay longer in Brussels, because I have got Munich and Vienna and Frankfurt coming up in December. Save money for that. Go to that Machine bar in Brussels.
Well the Snap tickets came through, disaster. 1904 Saturday night! Won’t arrive in Brussels till 2210. No fucking point. I thought therefore I must get a coach Saturday morning 9am and arrive 5pm. Or get the late Eurostar but get another Snap ticket to come back on Wednesday or Thursday say. The next Snap window is open already from 1st November to 22nd November! But then I thought, option 3, just get the late Saturday train, forget about Saturday, just arrive in time for late nightcap in Empire then that leaves me all day & evening Sunday and all day and evening Monday to have some jollies, and after all in Brussels that is enough, and that actually will help me save money. To rebook an extra journey would be an extra £25 plus extra £40 perhaps for hotel for another night. Better to just get there late Saturday and accept I will only have 2 full days there. Helps me save money. I have no money in my bank account for an extra night in the Max, and I have no money on any of my credit cards for an extra night at the Max. And a coach would mean that killer 7 hour journey all day long Saturday after Friday night at work. For what benefit? Just to get to 5th in time Saturday evening to see it is absolutely crap again, as usual. That killing 7 hour coach journey just for that? Enjoy Sunday and Monday at 5th and be happy with that and the Gare du Nord windows on both days. Empire at least Saturday night.
The hour of truth approaches. Try to sleep a bit. I carry on taking my newspaper diaries and books to —–. Carry on TRYING not to use my credit cards and trying to build up a permanent £1,300 reserve in my bank account. October 7 days off I can SEE if I can get a Snap ticket close to the time and take it from there. Eurostar is already £89 and will go up with every day that passes of course.
The Snap window has now been extended from 6 September to 25 September, so I CAN go on 19th and come back morning of 22 September. But I honestly don’t know if I have anything to go to Brussels FOR. Inna and Mariana that is it. Feels too soon still. Need to REBUILD my finances, and bring all my credit cards down. That money I would spend on Inna and Mariana should be spent bringing my credit card debt down so I have something to spare when I go to Vienna on October 28 (if I do). The thought of booking all those hotels and train tickets even for end of October is depressing to me. I really need to leave it till NEXT YEAR before I can really afford Vienna.
I cannot help thinking as soon as I get home I will be seeing if I can get some more Snap tickets to come back again. What a pleasure it is if you can get two seats to yourself. What a difference it makes. To be able to get a £50 return Eurostar ticket to Brussels (or Paris) at short notice is amazing. Bravo Eurostar. To think my train left St Pancras at 304 Monday afternoon and I was in my hotel room at 640 exactly, which allowing for the hour time difference is a journey time of 2 hours 36 minutes from St Pancras to my hotel room—not bad is it? And that includes rush hour Brussels traffic! And my hotel room is just 41,28 euros a night; even with the disastrous post-Brexit exchange rate that is still just £37 a night in my favourite hotel! How can one NOT keep coming back to Brussels?
